One of the advantages of being a Snellville City Councilman is that it makes it easier to help the community. Several months before the election, I began formulating a plan to help raise money and food donations for the southeast Gwinnett Food CoOp. That plan went into action in early November, and on the the 22nd, we took our first step towards kicking hunger out of the Snellville area. Sam and Amy Roper of Texas Roadhouse became the first business participating with Give Hunger the Boot to deliver food– over $1,700 worth of it– to the CoOp. Additional programs will be announced in the near future, and for more information, go to www.givehungertheboot.com.
